The Calgary Flames announced today that they have acquired goaltender Eddie Lack, defenceman Ryan Murphy and 7th round draft pick in 2019 from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenceman Keegan Kanzig and a 6th round draft pick in 2019. Carolina will retain 50% of Lack's salary.

Lack, a native of Norrtalje, Sweden, spent the 2016-17 season with the Carolina Hurricanes where he picked up eight wins in 19 games along with a .902 save percentage and a 2.64 goals against average. The 29-year old has played four seasons in the NHL accumulating a 54-51 record in 136 games with a .911 save percentage and a 2.56 GAA.

Murphy, a native of Aurora, Ontario, split the 2016-17 season between the Carolina Hurricanes and their AHL affiliate, Charlotte Checkers. He played 27 games for Carolina picking up a pair of assists and eight penalty minutes in addition to his seven games for Charlotte. He has netted six goals and 31 assists for 37 points and 38 penalty minutes in 151 career NHL games.
